IMWell Health Testimonials

Bob Dornblaser, Vice President of Human Resources for O. K. Foods, Inc.

What started as IMWell Health providing on-site disease management to our employees evolved into not one, but two on-site primary care clinics. This was a natural outgrowth of our ongoing wellness philosophy. The program was highly successful in providing “at risk” employees with the health education they needed to combat or prevent their disease or potential disease. Previously it was difficult for employees to get a doctor as a new patient, or could not get into their physicians for weeks. Long waits at the doctors office waiting room meant lost wages and rising healthcare costs made it often unaffordable to receive appropriate healthcare. There was also communication issues for our non-English speaking population. Our local physicians were so overloaded with patients, we felt they did not have time to properly care for their patients so quality of care became a major concern.

We wanted to return to the “Marcus Welby” concept of the family physician – someone who knew each of his or her patients and were focused on their successful long-term health. Dr. Cathy Womack, a highly respected professional in the medical community, was already partnered with O. K. Foods and the Employers Health Coalition of Arkansas. Her company’s philosophy of treating patients includes: find the health issue before it becomes a major issue, treat it, educate the patient on prevention and/or mitigation of the disease, and follow up with the patient to ensure compliance to the medical regimen.

IMWell Health is an integral part of O. K. Industries, Inc.’s efforts to provide high-quality, accessible healthcare to our employees. The real key to their success has been the human side of the equation: the fact that the employees have come to truly trust the health center staff and perceive them as their advocates. The medical staff gained this trust by doing what is in the best interest of the employee.

Our employees and their families now receive good quality medical care that is extremely easy to access at a very low cost. From the letters, telephone calls and e-mails we receive, we definitely believe our employees see it as a value added service to their everyday working relationship with OK Foods.

Even though our employees have No Co-Pay, No Deductible, Nothing Out of Pocket expense for utilizing the On-Site clinic, OK Foods is seeing a continued control of costs through lower medical bills, a reduction in unnecessary care, higher utilization of generic drugs and most importantly, through the management of the employees health to prevent or control major health issues.

We intend for it to be a long term and mutually beneficial program. Beneficial to the employee because of the quality of medical care at an affordable price mixed in with access convenience in access. It’s also beneficial to the Company because a healthy employee is a productive employee. And it’s beneficial to the community because it relieves the patient load in that local. We say employees are our most important resource, and we back it up with action.

In addition to lower costs, anything that makes our employees’ lives more convenient is good for them and thus good for us. We want to make it as easy as we can to maintain their health and be proactive in preventative care.

"If we can eliminate access barriers to quality care for our employees, it will not only improve the quality of life for our employees, and IMWell Health's program saves us money on our plan design. Also our generic utilization which started about 53% is constantly rising and is now over 69%"
